WiDS Taif conference
Taif University is excited to collaborate with Stanford University to bring the Women in Data Science (WiDS) conference to TU, Saudi Arabia. The Global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference is an annual one-day technical conference based at Stanford, which brings together data scientists and professionals from around the globe to discuss the latest research and applications of data science in a broad set of domains.
WiDS Taif conference will take place this year on the 30th of March and feature vision talks by distinguished speakers from academia, with female data scientists and researchers, and networking opportunities throughout the day. All genders are invited to participate in the conference.
WiDS TU conference was nominated by Taif University and the Makkah Cultural Forum within the initiatives of ‘How to set an example” in the digital world for this year 1442 AH.
The primary focus of the conference is on new and original research resuls in the areas of data science. Topics include but are not limited to

We invite submission of papers focusing on all aspects of data science ranging from theoretical foundations to novel models and algorithms. We focus on challenges and applications of all fields: Medicine, physics, chemistry, computational biology, social science, economics, computer science, mathematics, digital humanities, etc in the fields of data science. We encourage applications of data science that are related to The Makkah Cultural Forum. This year’s theme of the forum is “How can we set an example in digital world?”
Paper submissions can have multiple authors (of any gender), but at least one author of each accepted paper must be identified as a woman, who is expected to present the paper in the conference.
Conference registration is free of charge
FOR POSTER COMPETITION
We welcome poster submissions that present original ideas and research in any fields using or developing data science methods (e.g.: computational biology, social science, economics, computer science, mathematics, digital humanities ...etc).
Poster submissions can have multiple authors (of any gender), but at least one author of each accepted poster must be identified as a woman. Our call is open for women in data science in academia and in industry too.
Submitting scientific papers
Authors can submit up to 6 pages for full paper (including references) and up to 4 pages for short/poster paper (including references) as per guidlines provided in the IEEE template.
Accepted papers should not have more than 15% of similarity.
